Each spring, the VSEA Awards & Scholarship Committee solicits scholarship applications from VSEA members and their spouses, dependents and domestic partners. The application process is easy, requiring the applicant to write a couple of short essays as well as provide a grade history, employment history, personal references and a few other things.
All applications received before May 8, 2018, will be reviewed by Committee members, who will then decide from among all this year’s eligible candidates who is awarded a 2018 VSEA scholarship.
Winners will be announced at the VSEA Council’s June 2018 meeting.
VSEA is cheering and welcoming today’s announcement by Vermont Attorney General TJ Donovan that his office has filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court (along with 21 other states), urging the Court to "uphold existing precedent that permits ‘fair share’ provisions in public sector union contracts."
SCOTUS is expected to issue a ruling in this case by June 2018.

The VPCH frontline workers are asking Vermonters or anyone else watching this video to join their fight to ensure proper staffing levels on every shift as well as forcing management to institute comprehensive and well-defined safety protocols to guide the workers moving forward.
