VSEA has a seven-woman delegation at this week’s 2016 NE Summer School for Women in Unions and Worker Organizations, which began on July 30 and ends August 3. It’s being held at the Labor Education Center on the Rutgers campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey. This year’s theme is “The Struggle is Real” (don’t VSEA members know it).
VTDigger reports today on the recent letter VSEA sent to the Shumlin Administration, asking for more to be done to address employee safety and security while at work.
In stressing the urgency, VSEA Executive Director Steve Howard takes aim at the Administration’s delayed response to take any action (just releasing its initial plan last week), saying:
“They don’t have people who are addicted to opiates sitting in front of them threatening them."
VSEA members are urged to keep pressure on the current Administration on safety and to challenge every candidate for state and local office to tell you how they would address address safety and security.
