The House Government Operations Committee will be conducting a vote Wednesday, April 14 on a proposal that, if passed, would stack the deck of a soon-to-be-formed task force to study the pension issue(s) with labor being outnumbered by non-labor members. Yesterday, members should have received an email about the need to generate calls and emails to House members ASAP, asking them to urge the Committee to reject the proposal on the table and instead consider a VSEA proposal that allots equal task force slots to labor and non-labor persons, with an independent chair.
With a Committee vote scheduled for tomorrow morning (Wednesday, April 14), VSEA President Aimee has scheduled two Zoom meetings with the membership to discuss the Committee’s vote and next steps.
