Following deaths at Upper Big Branch mine, marchers call on Massey Energy to put miners’ safety ahead of profits.
VSEA grievance filed on behalf of NMU, Corrections and Supervisory members with Step Dates that fall between June 21, 2010, and June 30, 2010.
"Facility public information officer Melissa Nuce said an internal investigation is under way in cooperation with the Vermont Department of Corrections to find the cause of the disturbance."
VSEA urges its DOC members to let HQ know what you’re hearing about the reasons for the riot. Thanks!
From a 5/13 Free Press Story:
"A 40 percent capital gains tax exemption, eliminated last year, would be restored for the sale of businesses, but not for stocks, bonds or house sales. The loss of revenue during the next budget year would be $3.2 million, and about $11 million in the next budget year."
Heaping this lost income on top of Vermont’s already horrible deficit concerns those who depend on public services and the state employees who provide these services.
