The first week in May is when America celebrates its public employees during Public Service Recognition Week.
Big thanks to every VSEA member for your service to Vermonters, and equal thanks to VSEA retirees for your past service. VSEA will continue to honor your service, present and past, by fighting as hard as possible to protect and enhance your wages and benefits, your workplace rights, and your retirement security.
VSEA emailed members recently about four VSEA Board of Trustees’ seats that are currently up for election. They are:
- Supervisory Unit Trustee: A three-year seat that represents VSEA members in the Supervisory bargaining unit;
- Corrections Unit Trustee: A three-year seat that represents VSEA members in the Corrections bargaining unit;
- Vermont State Housing Authority, Defender General, and State’s Attorney’s Office Units Trustee: A three-year seat that represents VSEA members in the Vermont State Housing Authority, the Defender General, and the State’s Attorney’s Office bargaining units; and
- District 4: A three-year seat that represents VSEA members in Franklin County, Grand Isle County, Chittenden County, and Addison County.
To be eligible to run for one of the Unit Trustee positions listed above you must be a member of that bargaining unit. To be eligible to run for the District 4 Trustee position you must reside in, or have an assigned workstation in Franklin County, Grand Isle County, Chittenden County, or Addison County.
If you are interested in running for a VSEA Board of Trustees’ seat there are two ways to do so. Learn more here!

For VSEA members who are not currently enrolled in your union’s Northeast Delta Dental Supplemental Program, now is the time to join, during the open enrollment period for the 2023-2024 plan year. The VSEA supplemental program is designed to enhance your current State-provided dental insurance benefit.
Northeast Delta Dental is our region’s largest dental-provider network, with 85% of all Vermont dentists participating in the Delta Dental Premier network, and 45% participation in the Delta Dental PPO network. Even with the vast majority of dentists participating, there are no restrictions on dentist selection. Patients can visit any dentist they choose and still receive benefits. Patients will receive the best dollar value from the program when receiving dental care from a Delta Dental PPO network provider and still enjoy savings and convenience when visiting a Delta Dental Premier provider.
