VSEA Members Urged To Enter Recipe Contest!

On Thursday, August 30, VSEA is partnering  with the VT Foodbank at the Champlain Valley Fair for a day of awareness about the growing need for donations to feed Vermont’s hungry.
In addition, the Foodbank is asking VSEA members to help create recipes to share with the Foodbank’s statewide network of food shelves. One winning recipe will be handpicked by the Foodbank’s own Chef Dave and will be featured all day August 30 at the Foodbank/VSEA Fair display table.
     Good luck!

States Deciding Between Restoring Services Or Lowering Taxes

This piece is from the story. The "report" cited refutes VT alarmists’ cries that our state is suffering badly because of its current tax structure.

"But the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, a nonprofit research organization in Washington associated with Citizens for Tax Justice, which advocates a more progressive tax code, issued a report this year that found that the states with high income tax rates had outperformed those with no income tax over the past decade when it came to economic growth per capita and median family income.

Valley News Letter Writer Defends Public Employees & Unions

"Public unions have never ever held anybody hostage. It’s immoral to suggest that making a decent wage is akin to some sort of economic terrorism. Public sector workers have never “blackmailed” anyone and it was not the issue in Wisconsin. The inherited billions of the Koch brothers have been used much more effectively to blackmail than any union, private or public."
