Article’s author writes: "By now I have had the overtime system explained to me by several people. It sounds like a game that is set up to make the players fail. More accurately, it sounds like a game set up to make those who stick with the union fail. "

Faced with ongoing short-staffing issues, VSEA members at the Vermont Veterans Home are showing their suppport for one another–and their union–by all wearing VSEA scrubs at the workplace!
Stewards at the Home are identified as such on their scrubs, allowing employees who may not know their stewards to now easily identify them. Great idea!
On August 3, the Chittenden & Waterbury Chapters offered free tickets to VSEA members wanting to attend the Lake Monsters’ game. A great time was had by all, and the VSEA contingent was recognized on the ball team’s jumbotron. Thanks to Chittenden Chapter President Kara Haynes for the photo!
Prior to game, VSEA members from several Chapters enjoyed a barbeque hosted by the Chittenden Chapter.
On Thursday, August 30, VSEA is partnering with the VT Foodbank at the Champlain Valley Fair for a day of awareness about the growing need for donations to feed Vermont’s hungry.
In addition, the Foodbank is asking VSEA members to help create recipes to share with the Foodbank’s statewide network of food shelves. One winning recipe will be handpicked by the Foodbank’s own Chef Dave and will be featured all day August 30 at the Foodbank/VSEA Fair display table.
Good luck! Worksite bulletin board flier attached!
