On February 18, members of the Vermont State Employees’ Association were at the State House in Montpelier to attend VSEA Lobby Day 2014. One hour of the day was devoted to a town hall-type meeting in House chambers, where VSEA members talked about why they came to Lobby Day and the issues that are important to them and their co-workers. Please turn up your computer’s volume (sorry, the levels were low on some comments) and listen to what VSEA members had to say:
VSEA members working in the state’s Economic Services Division have begun receiving notice that they are being singled out for their processing "error rates."

VSEA President Shelley Martin’s commentary on Vermont’s increasing use of temporary workers in Sunday’s Times Argus and Rutland Herald:
The temps go to work each day with full-time state employees doing jobs very similar to theirs, but with one huge difference. Many of the employees the temps work alongside belong to VSEA and are covered under a contract that affords them a fair wage, health care coverage and pension benefits.
