Don’t Scapegoat ESD Workers!

VSEA is excited that nearly 150 ESD workers have already signed a petition, asking DCF/ESD management to rethink and rescind the 24 e-mails recently sent to workers who management claims are chiefly responsible for the 3Squares Program’s high error rate. As any DCF/ESD worker will tell you, this is an issue of poor system management and oversight, and it’s created a crisis that workers have been warning for years was happening.

VSEA members working in the state’s Economic Services Division have begun receiving notice that they are being singled out for their processing "error rates." One ESD employee was shocked by the news, as s/he had just received a certificate of merit for helping to bring down error rates. Let’s join together to make sure these ESD workers aren’t made scapegoats for poor system management in the face of plenty of rank-and-file employee warning about system implosion.
