Just when state employees thought the attack on them couldn’t get worse, on Wednesday, April 15, members of the House Committees on Appropriations and Government Operations sent a joint letter to the State that attacks seven key and hard-won provisions of VSEA members’ contracts. It’s alarming because the lawmakers’ suggested attacks could translate into a significant reduction in employees’ pay and benefits.

VSEA is thanking the members who participated in last night’s "Truth About Budget Cuts" panel forum in Burlington. VSEA Members Evan Hill, John Howe, Shannon Morton, Jeanne Smith and William Wells took time to publicly explain how the Shumlin Administration’s proposed cuts will negatively impact Vermonters, especially if services like LIHEAP, the Community High School, the Courts and DCF are cut.
