NMU & Supervisory Units: VSEA Elections, Rules and Nominating (ERN) Committee Ballots is reminding that ballots were emailed at noon today to VSEA members in the NMU and Supervisory Units to vote for or against a tentative agreement recently negotiated by their respective Unit Bargaining Teams.
NMU and Supervisory ballots are due back on January 26 by 4:30 PM.
Corrections Unit: A series of contract explanation meetings are still in the works for VSEA members in the Corrections Unit. Corrections Unit members are urged to continue to look for an email from the VSEA ERN with a schedule of upcoming on-site explanation meetings.
Members belonging to any of these Units can still review what was agreed to by visiting the “Negotiation Notes” section of the VSEA website.
Do you want to get involved with the leadership of your union? One of the best ways to do so is to serve on the VSEA Board of Trustees. VSEA District 2 Trustee, Ben Webster, and VSEA District 4 Trustee, Roy Catella, announced recently that they would be stepping down from their elected Board of Trustees seats. Because there is still more than a year remaining in their current terms, an election is required to fill their seats.
To be eligible to run for one of these District Trustee positions you must reside in, or have an assigned workstation in one of the districts listed below:
District 2 – Waterbury & Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital
District 4 – Franklin/Grand Isle, Chittenden, Addison
In advance of Public Service Recognition Week 2024 (May 5 – May 12), VSEA’s Communications Department is inviting members to submit the names of colleagues who are deserving of special recognition for always going above and beyond to provide quality service to the Vermonters they serve. We’ll be choosing some of your nominations to feature during PSRW 2024.
Let the Communications Department know who you want to nominate for special recognition and tell us a little bit about why you are submitting their name for consideration.
Thanks in advance for your nominations. The nominating period will conclude at the end of March 2024.
The annual VSEA Will Wells Food Drive Challenge, which pits VSEA Chapters against each other to see which Chapter can raise the most money to donate to the Vermont Foodbank, has ended.
This year’s winner…drum roll… The VSEA Waterbury Chapter
Congratulations to the Waterbury Chapter and huge thanks to everyone who contributed this year to a cause that desperately needs our help, especially this time of the year.
