As VSEA Waits For Rx Substitution List From Scott Administration, Worker Anxiety Builds

VSEA still has not received a list from the Scott Administration or DHR that clearly shows there is a substitute for each of the 170 prescription drugs included on a list provided last week to VSEA of soon-to-be banned prescription drugs. This is creating a lot of employee anxiety, confusion and anger across state government, and VSEA truly hopes an A to B list will be delivered very soon. After all, the DHR Commissioner is already on record, saying no one will see their drug(s) cut, so you have to figure she has something tangible to base that claim on, right?

Apply Now! 2018 VSEA Scholarship Application Now Available!

Each spring, the VSEA Awards & Scholarship Committee solicits scholarship applications from VSEA members and their spouses, dependents and domestic partners. The application process is easy, requiring the applicant to write a couple of short essays as well as provide a grade history, employment history, personal references and a few other things.

All applications received before May 8, 2018, will be reviewed by Committee members, who will then decide from among all this year’s eligible candidates who is awarded a 2018 VSEA scholarship.

Winners will be announced at the VSEA Council’s June 2018 meeting.

Smoke & Mirrors?

If Ms. Fastiggi is bold enough to declare on television that no one’s medication is going to be cut off, VSEA members must assume that a "direct point A to point B" list now exists and they have determined that no one will be harmed, right?

If talking with DHR, VSEA members are urged to ask for a copy of any list DHR can produce showing an equivalent exists for all 170 of the banned drugs. Your union will continue to ask as well.

Call DHR Here: 802-828-6700 (press #1 then #3).

If you can only get an answer for the drug(s) on the list that you currently take, please share this information with VSEA at vsea@vsea.org and your union will begin to compile its own list, based on what members/retirees learn. Write "DHR Drug List" in your email’s subject line. Thanks in advance for the help!
