The VSEA Judiciary Unit Bargaining Team reached a tentative agreement with the State of Vermont Judiciary on Friday, January 12th for a successor two-year contract that would become effective on July 1, 2024. The Bargaining Team will be scheduling informational meetings to review the settlement and answer members’ questions.
All agreements reached during contract negotiations are tentative pending approval by the unit membership through ratification voting. The dates for voting on this new contract have not been set.
NMU & Supervisory Units: VSEA Elections, Rules and Nominating (ERN) Committee Ballots is reminding that ballots were emailed at noon today to VSEA members in the NMU and Supervisory Units to vote for or against a tentative agreement recently negotiated by their respective Unit Bargaining Teams.
NMU and Supervisory ballots are due back on January 26 by 4:30 PM.
Corrections Unit: A series of contract explanation meetings are still in the works for VSEA members in the Corrections Unit. Corrections Unit members are urged to continue to look for an email from the VSEA ERN with a schedule of upcoming on-site explanation meetings.
Members belonging to any of these Units can still review what was agreed to by visiting the “Negotiation Notes” section of the VSEA website.
Do you want to get involved with the leadership of your union? One of the best ways to do so is to serve on the VSEA Board of Trustees. VSEA District 2 Trustee, Ben Webster, and VSEA District 4 Trustee, Roy Catella, announced recently that they would be stepping down from their elected Board of Trustees seats. Because there is still more than a year remaining in their current terms, an election is required to fill their seats.
To be eligible to run for one of these District Trustee positions you must reside in, or have an assigned workstation in one of the districts listed below:
District 2 – Waterbury & Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital
District 4 – Franklin/Grand Isle, Chittenden, Addison
