Congratulations Vermont Veterans’ Home Workers!

March 29, 2016

VSEA Vets’ Home workers were out in force for a 2014 town meeting with Sen. Bernie Sanders, asking him to support their efforts to keep the facility State-run. He did.

The Privatization Threats Keep Coming But You Just Keep Producing Top-Flight Results For Some Very Important Vermonters.

In the face of repeated discussions under the Golden Dome about privatizing the Vermont Veterans’ Home, the workers continue to ignore the noise from Montpelier to focus on their priority, which is to provide the best care possible to Vermont veterans. Their solidarity and ability to drown out the naysayers has led to the workers receiving two prestigious distinctions this week. They are:

  • Achieved a zero—deficiency rate for the second consecutive year; and
  • Received a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (one of the best in the nation!).

VVH administration announced the distinctions in two press releases today, saying: “The outstanding survey results achieved by the Vermont Veterans’ Home are just one of the many reasons we are the hallmark in caring for our heroes.”

Way to go VSEA Vets’ Home workers! We’re proud of you.
