Alert About Consent Form For Employees Who Opt Out Of COVID Testing

October 15, 2021

For VSEA members who are choosing to be tested for COVID, VSEA General Counsel Tim Belcher is issuing an alert about the testing company’s required electronic consent form.

“The form is inaccurate in several respects,” explains Belcher. “It includes statements that the test is to help the employee’s medical providers and that the employee has had a chance to consult with someone. I suggest that VSEA members write a separate letter to the Department of Human Resources, stating that they are signing the consent form under duress and at the direction of the state, but that the statements they are being compelled to agree with are untrue, and that they then list the actual facts.”
