VSEA issued this release today:

Members of the Vermont State Employees’ Association (VSEA) met in Killington this past weekend for the union’s 72nd Annual Meeting, where the body formally endorsed Sue Minter to be Vermont’s next governor.

“Our members said they were backing Sue because of her past VSEA membership, her knowledge and understanding of how state government functions, and her stated commitment to assist VSEA in our campaign to ensure that all state employees are safe and secure in their jobs and workplace,” explains VSEA President Dave Bellini. “This is an incredibly important election for Vermont’s working families. We need elected officials in Montpelier who are responsive to the needs of state employees, supportive of labor unions and committed to providing quality public services to Vermonters. VSEA members look forward to helping Sue Minter become Vermont’s next governor in November.”

A long-time VSEA member, Minter says she is honored to receive this critical endorsement from an organization that, like her, is committed to fighting for Vermont’s working families.

“As a 10-year VSEA member, I couldn’t be more proud to receive the endorsement of VSEA and its members, who work tirelessly to make sure that Vermonters receive critical public services around the clock,” says Minter. “My administration will strengthen the middle class and ensure that Vermont’s working families get the support they need through increases in the minimum wage, paid family leave and workforce development.”

In addition to Minter, VSEA’s other federal and statewide endorsements include:

Sen. Patrick Leahy
Rep. Peter Welch
Lieutenant Governor: David Zuckerman
Treasurer: Beth Pearce
Auditor: Doug Hoffer
Secretary of State: Jim Condos
Attorney General: T.J. Donovan
