MONTPELIER, Vt.— The Vermont State Employees’ Association (VSEA), as representative of rank-and-file employees in the State’s Attorney’s Office, is today joining the growing chorus of Vermont voices calling for the resignation, and failing that, impeachment of Franklin County State’s Attorney John Lavoie.

“VSEA members are entitled to a workplace free from harassment and discrimination, but, sadly, since the outset of this investigation, we’ve heard from several of our frontline State’s Attorney’s Office members who have personally witnessed or been subjected to Mr. Lavoie’s inappropriate behavior or comments,” explains VSEA President Aimee Towne, adding, “For this reason, VSEA will be lobbying with others to remove Mr. Lavoie from his position.”

Towne added that the union is proud of its members in the State’s Attorney’s Office for not losing focus and for continuing to provide a vital public service to Vermonters, as well as helping make our communities safer.
