From the VSEA Legislative Team, monitoring the State House:
This afternoon, the Vermont Senate voted 28-0 to advance S. 286, the bill that codifies the recommendation of the Pension Task Force, at its second reading. The bill will now have its third and final Senate reading tomorrow. During today’s second reading, Senator Randy Brock of Franklin County offered an amendment that would have introduced the option of a defined contribution, 401(k)-style plan as an alternative to defined benefit plans for State employees. That amendment was defeated on a voice vote.
More tomorrow!
