Dear VSEA Members and Retirees:
It is with a heavy heart that I write today to tell you that VSEA Board of Trustees member and longtime union activist William Wells has sadly passed away. Will was working as a DCF Benefits Program Specialist in the Burlington office.
Will did so much good for all the Vermonters he served in his 12-year career as a state employee, and his colleagues and the entire VSEA family are mourning his passing. Will wore a lot of hats in his service to VSEA, including representing VSEA’s largest unit on the Board, the NMU, and serving on the NMU’s Executive Committee. He was also a Council member, Steward, and Chapter leader. Most important, Will really cared about his colleagues and all state employees, and he led by example, actively urging others to join him at every turn to fight the good fight. To all those VSEA members and state employees who knew and worked with Will, please lean on one another during this very difficult time. Godspeed Brother Wells. You will be greatly missed.

The wealthy, anti-union Freedom Foundation’s most recent attempt to spread its propaganda to VSEA members with an expensive mailer is being met with some welcome pushback from VSEA members who are angry about this group’s true motives, which aren’t good for public employees.
These are just two examples of the responses members are sending back to the Freedom Foundation–and were nice enough to share with VSEA.
