URGENT ACTION ALERT: The 2023 Child Care Bill Is In Jeopardy!

We need to tell lawmakers that inaction on child care is NOT AN OPTION. Pick up the phone RIGHT NOW: Call the VT Legislature’s Sergeant at Arms — (802) 828-2228 — and tell your legislators to pass a strong child care bill NOW! (Find your legislator here, then let us know you’ve made the call).

From Vermont’s Child Care Campaign:

If you haven’t seen the news reports out of the State House from last night (Vermont Public & VTDigger), the child care bill is “teetering” due to differences between the House and the Senate.

We know this kind of back and forth is typical in the final days of the session, but this bill needs to move forward now with agreement from both chambers — and we NEED YOU TO MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD NOW!

The finish line is in sight and we CANNOT GIVE UP. But this is why your calls today are ABSOLUTELY CRITICAL!

Child care champs: Call (802) 828-2228 to leave a message for your legislators — tell them to PASS a strong child care bill NOW! (find your legislator then let us know you’ve made the call)

Here’s an important note: When you call, you’ll be asked to leave a message. Here’s a sample message that you can use when prompted:

“I’d like to leave a message for [insert your legislators’ names]: Please pass a strong child care bill NOW — we’re counting on you to get this done this year because Vermonters can’t wait.”

LET US KNOW YOU’VE CALLED

Your voice is so important right now. There is still time and we can get this done. Thank you for taking action with us today.

body

For VSEA members who are not currently enrolled in your union’s Northeast Delta Dental Supplemental Program, now is the time to join, during the open enrollment period for the 2023-2024 plan year. The VSEA supplemental program is designed to enhance your current State-provided dental insurance benefit.

Northeast Delta Dental is our region’s largest dental-provider network, with 85% of all Vermont dentists participating in the Delta Dental Premier network, and 45% participation in the Delta Dental PPO network. Even with the vast majority of dentists participating, there are no restrictions on dentist selection. Patients can visit any dentist they choose and still receive benefits. Patients will receive the best dollar value from the program when receiving dental care from a Delta Dental PPO network provider and still enjoy savings and convenience when visiting a Delta Dental Premier provider.
