Vincent Illuzzi Sr. worked most of his life in Barre as a granite sculptor and carver. His works can be viewed from Vermont to Pennsylvania to Washington D.C.

"The audit identified several problems in how the state records, reviews and prevents workplace injuries and said in many cases, the culprit was inadequate staffing. An office devoted to workers’ compensation and injury prevention has two safety coordinators, even though a 2003 study recommended the state have five to eight. Hoffer said those positions could pay for themselves by preventing future claims."
