Understanding alterations to the state employees’ retirement plan could be proposed this legislative session, VSEA, in coordination with the State Treasurer’s office, is offering members and retirees special Zoom informational meetings to learn more about the current situation, what’s anticipated at the State House, and, most important, what you can do to help–both now and during the session.

In response to a slew of VSEA member and retiree questions about a recent report that state employees could be moved into OneCare Vermont, members of VSEA’s Benefits Advisory Committee have produced a Q&A to hopefully address many of the questions and concerns.

Huge thanks to all the VSEA Chapters that participated in the VSEA Board of Trustees’ recent challenge to see which Chapter could raise the most amount of money for the Vermont Foodbank before January 1, 2021.
Congratulations to the VSEA Chittenden Chapter for raising the most money for the Foodbank.
Here are the totals for all the Chapters where donations were made:
Chittenden Chapter – $1,511
Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital Chapter – $1,031
Waterbury Chapter – $833
Springfield Chapter – $631
Retirees’ Chapter – $600
NEK/ St. Johnsbury Chapter – $261

The total amount of money VSEA donated to the Fodbank was $11,904! This includes the Chapter donations and an additional $3,200 donation from VSEA ($200 x 16 Chapters), which was matched by the Foodbank, bringing the donation to $6,400!
Great job VSEA! Thank you again for your generosity during this especially difficult time for so many Vermonters.
State lawmakers are preparing to log-in to Zoom on Wednesday to officially launch the 2021 legislative session, and VSEA members and retirees have a lot to keep your eyes on this session (more so than usual).
