Velan Valve has roughly 70 machinists out on strike. This is a global company that barely bargained before putting its final offer on the table. The workers are saying that between wages and healthcare, it amounts to a giveback, and they are not going there. The striking Velan workers are walking picket lines from 7am-7pm at 94 Avenue C, Williston. Please stop by to show support, and ask your colleagues to do the same.

UPDATE: As of 9:00 AM on October 4, 2019 the strike is OVER! Machinists from Local 2704 voted to ratify a new two year Collective Bargaining agreement with the Velan corporation.
