Honor Vermont Veterans! Give Them Back Their Beds!
In May 1887, 25 proud Vermont veterans were the first to pass through the doors of our state’s only designated veterans’ care facility, the Soldiers’ Home—or as we now know it, the Vermont Veterans’ Home (VVH).
Since opening, the Home and its caregivers have provided a bed and top-level care to thousands of Vermont heroes in a safe and welcoming environment, but a recent ill-advised vote by the VVH’s Board of Trustees could soon reduce the number of beds at the facility from 171 to 130, meaning there may not be a bed available in the near future for a deserving Vermont hero.
