The VSEA Awards/Scholarships Committee is currently soliciting applications from students seeking financial assistance in the pursuit of post-secondary educational goals.
The Committee will announce the recipients of the scholarships in June.
VSEA is sharing this statement from the Vermont State Police and Vermont Troopers Association, asking labor and the public to donate to help out the family.
VSP Statement:
Corporal Eric Vitali was involved in a serious on-duty motor vehicle crash on I-89 northbound in the town of Bethel, VT, on March 8, 2024. His cruiser sustained massive front-end damage and crushing of the driver’s compartment. He was life-flighted to Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH. Eric suffered life-threatening traumatic injuries, and his condition is critical. His injuries include a traumatic brain injury, spinal fractures, and pelvis fracture. His doctors are indicating that the coming 72 hours will be critical in determining the outcome of his recovery.
The state’s latest health care reform efforts, once again, do not appear to address the most urgent problems Vermonters now face – access and affordability. Rather, they represent a doubling down on the failed approaches of the past eight years.
It is critical that legislators block these efforts until clear descriptions and measurable goals are provided on how this proposed initiative will solve the very real and worsening problems we are experiencing.
