VSEA WRJ Chapter Annual Meeting
Hello VSEA Members!
Please join your colleagues in the White River Chapter for the Chapter Annual meeting on Thursday, August 20.
At this meeting, new leaders will be elected and decisions about the upcoming year will be discussed.
Come for the good conversation.
Take this opportunity to step up to help the Chapter in the next year and share some pizza with your co-workers!
We will hold ELECTIONS!
Please send letters of interest to any current WRJ Officer.
Nominations will also be accepted during the meeting.
Meeting Agenda:
- Call to order
- Approve last year’s annual meeting minutes
- Approval for budget and date for Staff Appreciation Day
- Provide information around elections for each of the Chapter Leader roles (see descriptions below): President, Vice President, Clerk, and Treasurer
- VSEA News and updates
- Updates from June Council meeting
- Upcoming VSEA Annual Meeting Sept 19- Stratton Mountain
Description of roles:
- President: Chapter presidents are responsible for organizing chapter meetings in accordance with their chapter’s bylaws. You must run those meetings in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order, make sure your Chapter follows all other bylaws, and help recruit state employees in your Chapter to become union members. You will not be alone! Other members of your chapter will help, and you will have a staff organizer assigned to assist you! Chapter Presidents are all also VSEA Council members.
- Vice President: Takes over for the president if they step down or are absent from a meeting.
- Clerk: Takes notes at each meeting, brings a typed copy of those notes to the next meeting for review, and ensures their notes are submitted to the VSEA Communications Department.
- Treasurer: Each Chapter is given funds to spend on their members. The treasurer’s job is to keep track of those funds, and to give a treasurer’s report to members at each Chapter meeting.
