One of the best ways to get involved in your union is to run for elected office. Currently, there are three VSEA Board of Trustees District seats up for election. Day-to-day matters are overseen by the VSEA Board of Trustees who dedicate their time to managing the internal affairs of VSEA and assuring that VSEA policies are adhered to. The VSEA Board of Trustees meets at least once per month. Learn more about how your union is structured here.
To be eligible to run for one of the District Trustee positions you must reside in, or have an assigned workstation in one of the districts listed below:
- District 1 – Barre & Central Vermont
- District 2 – Waterbury & Vermont Psychiatric Care Hospital
- District 5 – Rutland & Bennington
Any members interested in running for election are required to submit a petition bearing no fewer than 25 VSEA members’ names, signatures, and employee numbers by Wednesday, June 1, 2022!
If you are interested in running for election to one of the Board seats listed above, there are two ways to do so:
- Submit a paper petition with 25 signatures to VSEA HQ. View/download the PDF petition here; or
- Submit electronically: It’s a two-step process that begins by you filling out this self-nomination online form followed by you soliciting 25 members to complete this online petition, providing your name, their name, their EE numbers, and a short statement of support for your name on the ballot.
If you have a question about your eligibility, please email VSEA Operations/Organizing Director Amy Kinsell akinsell@vsea.org.
