Report recommends $19M renovation for state building

BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) The state of Vermont is considering long-term options for a government building in downtown Burlington.

The state office building at 108 Cherry Street houses several state agencies including the Health Department.

The Legislature asked the state Buildings and General Services Agency to look at several options for the space over the next 20 years. Of those, the most recommended one in the report was also the least costly. It calls for renovating the parking garage immediately and the rest of the building over time at a cost of about $19 million.
