VSEA Treasurer Dave Turner Named New Superintendent At Northwest State Correctional Facility

Congratulations Dave!

The DOC sent an e-mail on July 27, announcing that VSEA Treasurer and longtime activist Dave Turner had been named the new superintendent at the Northwest State Correctional Facility in St. Albans.
The e-mail from Bob Kupec read:
“I am pleased to announce, that following an extensive recruitment initiative and candidate review process; that Mr. David Turner has been selected as the new Superintendent of the Northwest State Correctional Facility.  David, with over twenty-seven years of experience in corrections was selected from an applicant pool of over twenty individuals. The five member panel that interviewed David was impressed with his candor, the level of his prior work experience for the Department of Corrections, along with the depth and quality of his responses to the interview questions.  I am certain that David with the assistance of his Northwest State Team Members will continue to progress the transition of that facility to one of the premier women’s facilities in the country.”
Turner sent this message to the entire VSEA membership:
“I have been a VSEA member over my entire career and an activist for over 20.  I believe in the work that the VSEA does and encourage everyone to continue moving forward.  I will miss working with the wonderful people that I have met and built relationships with hope to continue to stay in contact.  The VSEA staff has always been supportive and I appreciate how hard each of them works each day.”
Good luck Dave! We’ll miss you too.
