Several media outlets reported today on yesterday’s revelation that the daughter of the woman who shot and killed DCF Social Worker Lara Sobel outside of her office on August 7, 2015, had recently absconded while on furlough. She is still missing, as of this morning.
The story is especially chilling for many frontline DCF workers, who are already dealing with a host of feelings with the one-year anniversary of Lara’s death just a few days away.
In today’s news stories about the daughter’s flight, VSEA’s position that the State needs to do more NOW to enhance employee safety is included.
