At the end of the Governor’s regularly scheduled press conference today, NMU Chair Ed Stanak (who pens an employee newsletter) rose from the gallery and began asking questions of the Governor. (Paraphrasing) "Are you okay with referring to state employees as targets?" and "What do you say to the hundreds of state employees and their families who are living in fear for their livelihoods?" Upon hearing the first question, Douglas punted it to his Sec’y of Admin for an answer. The obviously rattled Governor then totally ignored Stanak’s second question, walked away from the podium and zipped out the door. Some of the Governor’s staff then shook their heads at Stanak in disapproval.
