DESCRIPTION:Brattleboro VSEA Members and Non-Members,\nYour VSEA Chapter is reforming!\nPlease join us for an after-work meeting Wednesday, May 20th at the Brattleboro Community Television building’s third floor conference room (Room 306).\nThe meeting will start around 5:00 PM and we will be discussing what’s going on in your union, what role chapters can play in building a stronger union and holding elections for all chapter officer positions, as well as any currently unfilled VSEA Council positions representing Brattleboro.\nPlease RSVP — food will be provided, and this helps estimate the order. ( https://form.jotform.com/261244692586163 )\nAll members are welcome, and if you are not currently a member you can sign up at this meeting.\nDescription of Chapter Positions: \n\nPresident: Chapter presidents are responsible for organizing chapter meetings in accordance with their chapter’s bylaws. You must run those meetings in accordance with Roberts Rules of Order, make sure your Chapter follows all other bylaws, and help recruit state employees in your Chapter to become union members. You will not be alone! Other members of your chapter will help, and you will have a staff organizer assigned to assist you! Chapter Presidents are all also VSEA Council members.\nVice President: Takes over for the president if they step down or are absent from a meeting.\nClerk: Takes notes at each meeting, brings a typed copy of those notes to the next meeting for review, and ensures their notes are submitted to the VSEA Communications Department.\nTreasurer: Each Chapter is given funds to spend on their members. The treasurer’s job is to keep track of those funds, and to give a treasurer’s report to members at each Chapter meeting.\nCouncil Member: Council members attend four council meetings per year and vote on important union issues.
